    While set at Christmas, this vampire tale is not necessarily a Christmas story, although it acts as a bit of a catalyst for new vampire Luc s decision He never wanted to be a vampire, and despite loving his boyfriend Arrigo, the chance to be human again makes him question his existence Yes, his life is better than this abusive childhood and dealing with being left homeless by Katrina, but living forever and drinking blood doesn t look so great either His lover Arrigo loves being a vampire and doesn t want Luc to even attempt a reversal, but is prepared to accept his decision.There was a set up here for an interesting vampire world with a sexually open culture However I had some reservations Luc lives with Arrigo and a female vampire who is just a friend, there is reference to the vampire scientist who thinks he may have found a cure for the virus causing vampirism, and there is Arrigo s sire who comes back for a vampire meeting to discuss the cure and seek volunteers to be guinea pigs.My issues with story did not stem from the lack of interesting characters, plot or style, I just wanted I searched DSP and the author s website thinking perhaps this was a follow on to another story that explained the world in detail, including how Luc and Arrigo got together and Luc s turning, but it was written as a stand alone You catch little glimpses about A...

    I really liked the characters in this, especially Luc I m a big lover of all things vampiric, so I enjoyed reading about a new vampire who longs to be human I d love to read a sequel to see whether he decides to try the cure, or in the end, stays with his lover.
