    The time period of William III and Mary II and the Glorious Revolution gets five stars for interestingness and importance in history in my opinion I gave William s Mary only three stars however for the personal disagreements I have with the authors beliefs and interpretation of it My main complaint is that she at times tended to look at William and Mary through a modern light and gave credence to the idea that they both had tendencies to be perverts, whereby unjustly darkening their names On the other hand I believe the author should have been a little less kind to Charles II and James II, and their gross immorality and atrocities An understanding of what was being done to the Covenantors and others gives a better political and religious back drop to what William and Mary were saving England and especially ...

    I loved this book It s so hard to find books that focus on Mary, instead of William, and this book managed to make a biography about a woman who wanted to be a housewife really interesting To be fair, I do really like Mary as a historical figure, so my interest was already captured.I especially liked the parts of the books that looked at Mary s life in Holland, which isn t something that is generally mentioned in history books It s like her life is only considered important while she was living in England, and I liked that this book showed otherwise.The writer did come across quite harsh in regards to William, and Calvinism, and at points in the book, it did make you wonder how Mary and William actually managed to have a happy marriage At the same time, not much was actually said about what James II was actually doing wrong in England to make William and Mary want to supplant him Having read numerous other biographies, I already knew, ...
