This is probably my favorite from this week I never realised how much I loved the Green Lanterns, but I think they are right up there with the Batfamily villains I don t care for Hal all that much Jon is still my main GL since I grew up with the Cartoon Network Justice League series , but he was pretty cool in this issue.I really loved the Larfleeze cameo in this too I hope he shows up in this series or any of the GL series , because he s one of my favorite Lanterns.

People are saying this is one of the best books this week , i would have said so too had i not completely missed the whole Green Lantern Gauntlet story , and it definitely led me to a confused path when i read it , finally after a lot of googling i understood what was going on and that led to the conclusion that it was a good book but it would have had beenepic had i read about the whole Gauntlet saga but sadly i hadn t Anyways looking forward to the issue 1 in 2 weeks

Ok so they ve finally released the DC Universe streaming service which of course I already shelled out the for and I m basically on a mindless comic book bender I ve got this issue and quite a few other Rebirth titles sitting in a stack in my house somewhere, but yeah, whatever I m in geek heaven right now This was good Nothing too amazing, but a good back to basics recap of my main man Hal Jordan Back to the binge

If you ve ever read any of my other reviews for stuff put out by DC comics, you ll know that Hal Jordan is my favorite DC hero I absolutely loved Geoff Johns run on the Green Lantern books starring Hal Jordan and in the New 52, I ve only read up until the book where Johns leaves I m sorta nervous about reading someone else writing the character now I am evennervous because I don t know anything at all about writer Robert Venditti I know he ended up being the writer for GL towards the If you ve ever read any of my other reviews for stuff put out by DC comics, you ll know that Hal Jordan is my favorite DC hero I absolutely loved Geoff Johns run on the Green Lantern books starring Hal Jordan and in the New 52, I ve only read up until the book where Johns leaves I m sorta nervous about reading someone else writing the character now I am evennervous because I don t know anything at all about writer Robert Venditti I know he ended up being the writer for GL towards the end of New 52, but as I previously stated, I ve not read any of those books This kick off to Rebirth is the first experience I ve had with his writing This book kicks off showing the center of the universe called Sector 0 In all previous Green Lantern books, this has been the world of the Guardians, Oa, and the home base for all things dealing with the Green Lantern Corps We find out that Oa is gone and so are the Guardians and all of the Green Lanterns In Oa s place is a planet called Warworld where we see Sinestro From the dialogue, Sinestro believes that he has defeated the Green Lanterns and the yellow light of the Sinestro Corps reigns supreme Cut to a remote planet in the far reaches of Space where we see Hal Jordan Hal vows to find out what happened to the rest of the Lanterns and to be a presence that the righteous will find encouraging and that the villainous will fear This issue is not very long, but I have a really good feeling about the series because of what little was shown here This is definitely a new era for DC comics and they ve shaken a lot of things up with their Rebirth titles It seems that that holds true for this series as well Hal has always done things his own way, but he has always had a few friends in the Corps and in the Justice League that he could turn to when he needed help with something He could also go to the Guardians when things were really bad, but for now, at least, Hal seems to be completely on his own I m looking forward to the next few books in this series so I can I see where Venditti takes the story For now, the writing is off to a great start The writing score is 5 stars.Ethan van Sciver is the artist for this series If you have ever seen his art at all, you re probably a fan and just seeing his name on this book should be enough to make you want to grab it The art is amazing 5 stars. This series is off to an auspicious start with this all around 5 star Rebirth special issue Any fan of Hal Jordan needs to pick this one up Anybody interested in reading something with Green Lantern in it, but just doesn t know where to start needs to pick this up as well This is a perfect jumping on point for anyone

So, this got put in my pulls accidentally I d only planned on Green Lanterns, not Green Lantern Corps and I wasn t paying attention when checking out but I m kind of glad it did I don t know when I suddenly fell in love with the Lantern Corps, but the art in this book is stellar As a prequel, there isn t much plot movement, but I was suddenly rooting for Hal, curious about Kyle s apparent savior destiny, and the Sinestro reveal was very interesting don t know if other readers knew it befo So, this got put in my pulls accidentally I d only planned on Green Lanterns, not Green Lantern Corps and I wasn t paying attention when checking out but I m kind of glad it did I don t know when I suddenly fell in love with the Lantern Corps, but the art in this book is stellar As a prequel, there isn t much plot movement, but I was suddenly rooting for Hal, curious about Kyle s apparent savior destiny, and the Sinestro reveal was very interesting don t know if other readers knew it beforehand, but I didn t.But seriously, the art Space is gorgeous Lyssa is stunning The panel design is amazing
