This charming book begins with Crystal, a little angel, who wanted nothing than help around Heaven, but all of the other angels told her she was too young to help and suggested she just go and play Saddened, she sits upon some stairs to cry because all she wanted to do was help in some way Little did she know that she had a very important job waiting for her and what an important job it was Crystal The Christmas Angel was such a ...

This book has an interesting and unique take on the Christmas story although not necessarily Biblically accurate Crystal, a small heavenly angel, is looking for a job to do All the angels are preparing for a big even and Crystal wants to help But regardless of what she finds to do, she just seems to mess things up Over and over, she is asked to go play with angels her own size, and leave the preparations to the older angels Eventually, God finds her, sad and crying after her latest rejection He comes and talks to her Then He gives her a very important job to do, which she does very well proving that even small angels can accomplish big things.I read this book aloud to my kids The story itself was OK and quite engaging But it was also a bit humorous, because the kids had to stop me during the story to point out the facts that were not Biblical.Such as, at one point, Crystal lies to God with the best of intentions, of course He asks her what is wrong and she doesn t want to bother him, so she says Nothing She is also shed quite a few tears when the angels ask her to find something else to do, but there isn t supposed to be crying in heaven And my son said he didn t think there would be a cleaning crew either, which was one of the jobs she was trying to be helpful with.I might disagree with him on that one.Of course, I understand the author was mostly creating a story with a moral for kids to learn from That no matter how young they are, they can do something helpful and s...

This is a cute kids book based loosely around the Nativity Crystal is an angel in heaven who simply wants to join in and help with all the chores but is repeatedly told she is too little She doesn t appreciate being told to run along and play with angels her own size while the grown ups prepare for an important event She considers herself capable of cleaning or singing and gets very upset One day God finds her sitting crying and decides she can have the most important job of all which includes caring for Mary, ensuring they get a place in the stable, give the shepherds the good news of the saviour and then become the star of Bethlehem The moral of the story is good as far as encouraging youngsters they can achieve important things regardless of size but I did think it would have been easier to let her do the t...

Crystal The Christmas Angel by Theresa Oliver is a sweet story centered around the birth of Jesus It shows how one little angel can make a difference just like one child can make a difference even when the adults around her can t see it The illustrations by Deanna McRae are beautiful With its larger size 8.5 x 0.2 x 11 inches and the artist s smart use of color, the book is sure to capture the eyes of young people.Where I believe the book may have some challenges is in the story length, the typographical errors, and its straying away from the documented story of the first Christmas. That said, the way in which Crystal The Christmas Angel is written could also engage persons outside of the Christian faith to read it The message is an important rem...

There are stories that we want the children to know, but unless we make the stories interesting to them, they would rather go back to their cartoons, comics, games, and their favorite animation characters.Crystal The Christmas Angel, with a sweet protagonist, and cheerful narration of events leading to the big event Christmas make for a tale that kids would love reading. The illustrations are bright and colorful.Crystal The Christmas Angel is a lovely book to add warmth to the festive...

CRYSTAL THE CHRISTMAS ANGEL is a cute children s story Not exactly biblically correct, but it is still cute The message is that even little kids can do important jobs Like Crystal who was too little to help clean Heaven, too little sing in the choir, but yet she helped Gabriel deliver the news to Mary, stayed with Mary during the nine months of pregnancy and then delivered the news to the shepherds and became the Star of Bethlehem like I said, not biblically correct The art work in the book ...

This is a wonderful book for encouraging children to realize that they can do important things no matter their size Crystal may be one of the smallest angels in Heaven, but she ends up playing a hugely important role in the Nativity. The story is easy to read, and the illustrations are beautiful Portions of the story are not exactly Biblical, but that doesn t deter from the message of the story, in my opinion. This would be a wonderful book to add to your library of Christmas tales I received ...
