Some years maybe 20 years ago I read this book liked it so much that I picked up the whole trilogy – The Nylon Hand of God The Devil's Shepherd and The Heat of Ramadan I recall liking the second book also but being disappointed in the third The Israeli American author is an ex paratrooper novelist and military journalistNow re reading the first book I am less impressed The setup characterizations are good but the mission in the second half of the book becomes technically complex pretty much unbelievable
Compared to the heat of Ramadan this was a bit of a disappointment Sure technically it is ok but it is all a bit over the top With the abduction of Baum's daughter as a showstopper No professional service would allow any member to participate in the retreival of a family member Neither planning nor execution
