Someone commented that there can never be TOO many dogs, but I might disagree when it comes to this book that Neo read There are fast dogs and slow ones, fat dogs and skinny ones even BIG dogs and tiny ones Dogs all over serving many purposes, but one thing they all do is cause chaos when brought together Neo was able to speed through this one and show me that he s picking up words and sentences faster than a dog owner with a poop bag on a Sunday morning.

This book has fun pictures with all sorts of dogs getting into plenty of trouble But, the book poses a problem because the one to two words on each page is too simple for older readers or a read aloud, but the vocabulary words turned into adverbs, some made up is complicated and the book doesn t have enough repetition for the beginning readers it is marketed for I do like the short focus at the beginning of the book on the big, bigger, biggest and small, smaller, smallest.

Lori Haskins channels her inner Seuss for this kid s book that has a father grilling burgers out by the patio and all the neighborhood dogs wanna piece of the action Big dogs, little dogs want the burgers and the hot dogs, and yeah the prose does get Seuss esque But it s funny, sweet and is a great intro to different words for kids to learn, and different types of dogs that kids can enjoy Sowho wants some, ahem, DOGS Four starsWE let the DOGS out, Woof, woof woof

This was a cute book to show all the different dogs that there are I think children would enjoy this book because of the animal aspect of the book.
